How to Create Jewellery Colour Variations in Minutes

Generate realistic gold, silver, rose-gold, platinum, and custom-colour versions of your jewellery from the same product photograph.

Create more product variations from one image

Photographing every metal or colour variation separately can make a product launch slower and more expensive.

Lustra’s Color Variation Generator lets you upload an existing jewellery photograph and create multiple colour versions while preserving the original product design.

Step 1: Open the Color Variation Generator

Log in to Lustra and open Tools.

Select Color Variation Generator.

The workspace lets you upload one image or process several product images as a batch.

Step 2: Upload your product images

Upload the jewellery photographs you want to transform.

For the best results, use images that are:

  • Sharp and well lit
  • Large enough to show fine details
  • Free from heavy colour filters
  • Clear around stones, settings, clasps, and engravings

You can add multiple product images when you want to create the same colour options across several photographs.

Step 3: Choose the new colours

Select one or more built-in metal presets:

  • Gold
  • Rose Gold
  • Silver
  • Platinum
  • Bronze
  • White Gold
  • Black

You can also choose a custom colour and assign a short filename suffix to it.

Lustra shows the total number of outputs before generation. The calculation is simple:

Number of images × number of selected colours = total outputs

For example, three source images with four selected colours will create twelve variations.

Step 4: Choose the resolution

Select the output resolution available on your plan.

Higher resolution is useful when you need larger marketplace images, advertising assets, or additional room for cropping.

Step 5: Generate the variations

Select Generate Variations.

For every selected colour, Lustra instructs the AI to preserve the product’s:

  • Shape
  • Design
  • Stones and settings
  • Fine details
  • Lighting and shadows
  • Reflections
  • Original background

Only the metal or material colour should change.

This creates a more consistent result than asking the AI to redesign the entire image.

Review your results

As the batch runs, Lustra displays its progress across every image and colour combination.

When generation is complete, you can:

  • Review each colour variation
  • Download individual images
  • Download all successful results
  • Return to previous batches through History

Generated filenames include a colour suffix, helping you keep different metal versions organised.

Tips for realistic colour changes

  • Start with a neutral, accurately exposed photograph
  • Avoid images where the jewellery is heavily obscured
  • Use multiple source angles when preparing a full product listing
  • Check that gemstones remain unchanged
  • Compare reflections and highlights across each result
  • Use a custom colour only when the standard metal presets do not fit

One photograph, multiple product options

The Color Variation Generator is useful for testing new finishes, preparing marketplace listings, and visualising product options before arranging another photoshoot.

It turns an existing jewellery image into a coordinated family of colour variations while keeping the original product recognisable.
